Got the Ute tidied up a bit. Had the bonnet, front guards, doors and the top rails around the tray re sprayed. Good cash price. Also got him to do the black and red S PAC stripes all red and freshen up the black around the doors. Got a few badges to replace, and some clear side indicators, and exterior is pretty much done. Might try and get it slightly lower as well, riding a bit high at the moment. Excuse the crappy photos, had to reduce from IPhone, but you get the idea.

Yeah I’m pretty happy with how they turned out actually. The painter wasn’t 100% sure how they’d come up, being rubber, he said it might be hard to get the paint to adhere to them, but it’s worked well. Time will tell how they hold up, but it’ll be loving in the garage soon, so should be fine. Getting the black parts around the doors has made a big difference too, good contrast now between the black and the white.

Few more pics, first one is the before. Got the black and red SS grille pieces to go back in, and the bonnet badge which is coming from Rare Spares.

Question for the brains trust. So I’ve put the Ute back into the garage, but my wife drives a kluger, and the garage space inside is tight. With kids getting in and out of the kluger, I’m worried they’ll open the door into the Ute. Anyone know of any good car covers that have a bit of padding or protection, or are they all just thin material and nothing else??

Try Clark rubber or someone like that, get a strip say 600mm x 2000mm of foam (size and density that suits) and glue/pin/stitch to a cheap cover

That way it would cover the whole side of the ute in protection

Get the eggshell style one, this will help cushion a flung door
