VX SS A4 Series II
Hi,

I think I posted this originally in the wrong section...

I have a VX SS series 2 and planning to install an oil pressure gauge.

For those that have done this with the same setup (2002 ls1) – which way did you do it?

I was going to buy an adapter plate for just above the oil filter housing where I will plug in a new sensor but wondering if it is possible just to read the data from the existing pressure sensor and use a gauge/kit that can plug into the obd port? I think this works in the newer models but I need to know if my model is capable. Then I will know if I need to go the extra mile with installing an adapter etc.

Cheers!

I can’t help with your specific questions, only pass on what I found and did.

The sandwich plate you are thinking about, that fits above the filter does not seem to have many recommendations, as users think it makes the oil filter hang too low, and could be damaged. Fact or myth ? Dunno.

I got a premade kit from JHP, which included an adapter that replaced the blanking plate in the housing above the filter, and the sender (which had the electrical connections ) screwed into that. Bit of a tight fit in the space, and make your own gasket, not impossible.

This is a similar Ebay image ($330 o_O) but you can see what I mean. There are cheaper versions available.
