Probably has a EL cluster in it so it would show lower kms.....

EL cluster requires EL BEM.
And a multimeter would have helped you find the globe issues in no time.

Turns out it wasn't a globe, just that previous owner(s) just spiked the electrical brake controller into the brake light loom and spliced the park into that one too and also want to strangle previous owner (s) because the engine has never had an oil change or just used cheap shitty oil and have a delicious coating of sludge over my top end components

Not much more to report on the falcon, just running water through the block so it doesn't rust on me until I get new hoses, but stuck between getting a fairlane conversion for interior and exterior or putting falcon parts back in

VX II Acclaim Wagon.
Won't be able to get full Fairlane interior cos it's a wagon so there's no Fairlane back seats available. (AFAIK)

OTOH a few upspec bits in the cabin is always nice. I've added some leather and chrome.

I don't know about better. But when it came to towing, the torque of that inline 6 was awesome.

I dare say the V6 Ecotec is a more refined (ahem, as much as you can use that word for an Ecotec), and economical engine.

ecotec ,........ refined ,......... mmm,

Compared to the EF/L era i6 Fords, I'd have an eco any day. That said, it's kinda like giving up ebola for rabies.

:rofl:That's true , I'm somewhat of a V6 fanboi , to be honest , but an inline six does have it over a V6 on the torque curve , the EF/ L sixes were dogs though , and the AU ones weren't much better .

I had a EF and EL, both for the first 150,000km or so of their lives. Both blew head gaskets in a massive cloud of white smoke. The EL had a pretty bad bottom end knock and no rear brakes when I gave it back too. Used to put in a litre of oil every 2 weeks just to keep it going. For the record I had an Eco VS and a Eco VTII. Both did very well although the fuel card got chopped up 1/2 way back from qld in the VS when my employer went broke. Stoopid VS :p
