Passenger side mirror no longer goes up and down

The passenger side mirror no longer goes up and down but goes in and out. Note if I put the car in reverse, the mirror also no longer goes down to show the kerb like it used to. Any ideas.

The up/down wiring has gone open circuit?
The motor has failed?
The BCM is faulty?

Best check for DTC and then follow the diagnostics process specified within the VF workshop manual pdf.

You’d need a decent scan tool to get more than engine DTC’s

Thanks Skylarking, I have already downloaded the manual and have a scan tool. I never thought to use the scan tool. I will use both options and report back.

Mirror in my friends dad's 16 VF Evoke Wagon is the same, Everytime I drive the car I have to adjust the mirror manually lol
