hi guys I have a ve omega,

I’m having some issues with my steering recently it’s been making a really loud winning and is leaking oil from the Ps res, I tightened all the bolts and hose clamps and toped the oil back up, the steering was still really stiff when turning right but not when turning left.

(I replaced the pump a month ago due to a similar issue where the steering was really hard.)

Does anyone know what the issue is, Ps pump or control arm?

It's probably that the hoses to the reservoir need to be replaced. If there's a split in one, tightening the clamps will only do so much. Until then it could be letting fluid out and air (and possibly dirt) in. If it was a control arm issue on one side then it would probably still have issues turning in both directions.

Also entirely possible the brand new pump has failed. New parts aren’t what they used to be. Especially if it’s made from Chinesium.

Did you flush the fluid in the system when you installed the new pump?

Depending were you are in vic,
Try one of the Jollys Wreckers, approx $75 for a S/hand PSP.
