304 retro-fit knock sensor

as per the title;
Does anyone know much about retro-fitting a Knock sensor from a HSV 304" into a standard 304?

for example: if I purchase a knock sensor kit like the link below; can I fit it to the engine, wire it to the ECU, and when my car goes to the tuner for him to do his thing he can activate it on the ECU/Memcal and use it to his tuning advantage?

Thats just the lead.
To run a knock senor you need the knock sensor,loom,and a genuine hsv memcal
as only hsv had them,v6 knock boards will not work properly and give false knock.
Imo better off without it,plenty of vn-vs v8s have been tuned without issue.
I think i have a knock sensor,plug somewhere,def got a hsv memcal with knock board
not easy to come by these days.

Yeah, I knew that listing did not include the actual sensor (sorry if I worded it funny)
I just thought it would be a good idea because the more spark advance you run; then the better power/fuel economy you can get, but if a poorer grade fuel is used then it will retard timing to prevent damage.

Good to know I need the memcal too, I will be sure to purchase it all as a set (probably from a wreck) if I go down that road.

or am I better to get the genuine gear out of a genuine HSV? and can I get it from a VS HSV to have modded and put into a VR SS?

Try get one from a wreck i dont trust that seller or trx100.
Dosent look new to me either.
Other option might be to grab a v6 knock sensor plug
and track down a new v8 knock sensor and memcal.

Do not buy from this guy , that is a fake knock board/tune . I bought one and had so much drama with it . Wasnt a real 185 tune even on the board it was a v6 one .
In the end I went with a tune from The1 on this site , much better tune then the 185 kw holden tune and it doesnt need the knock sensors etc

Thanks for the advice on that, I hear alot about dodgies on Ebay so thought posting on here would take advantage of others knowledge/bad experience's.
I am not worried about the tune on it, as it will be getting wiped and custom mapped on the Dyno anyway. It is the knock board feature and sensor setup that I am interested in.

I had a look and found a knock sensor and plug and the memcal
is a genuine hsv but its blank so can put anything on it but auto will have
to change to a larger eprom no big deal i have sst 512k flash chips.
Anyone wants this make an offer,these are hard to come by.
HSV pictured left v6 right also beware of ebay fakes they use a v6 knock board
which WILL give false knock.
