Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread, just a few posts.

I was busy cooking dinner and thought I'd stop and read a few posts whilst contemplating the next step/process (lots of onions).
He says he has disabled vats with his scanner? I think that can be only the bcm side of things? So the pcm won't allow the start because no signal from the bcm to allow the start?

If vats is disabled the PCM won't look for the signal from the BCM and it should crank as normal. But I'm not sure if you can do that with just a scanner TBH.

Maybe a silly question, but what is the fuel gauge reading?

My vt used to show low fuel (red light on cluster), now doesn't show light, just runs out of fuel, just under 1/4 of a tank.
So, wondering if you're out of fuel?

Not sure how it is with a V6 but from what I've read with the LS1 you have to write the PCM file to a laptop with a tuning software like EFI live then remove vats save it and write it back to the PCM.

V6 is coded/burnt on the memcal and you can't change that unless you have the right equipment.

With a scanner you may be able to send a Vats signal to get a car started but that would be a one time thing unless you leave it connected and do it after every time you turn the key on.

Ok. Have tried again today with this thing. Even plugged in another ECM and bypassed again to get it to crank. The engine pops and backfires through the intake with flames at times. Double, triple checked firing order. To confirm should be 1,4,5,2,3,6? My tether is wearing thin. Lol

If it’s popping and back firing out of the intake there is a timing issue.

Let’s hope it’s just the firing order. Otherwise there is internal timing issues.

My thoughts too mate. With no background history on the car it is proving to be a big pain in the backside diagnosing the issues.
