Hey guys I’ll be changing the tailshaft coupling soon behind the gearbox, the one at the diff looks okay but may as well change it while it’s out.

I heard genuine are the best to go but I have a kelpro one sitting in the garage was wondering if I should use that as well, if anyone has had experience using kelpro would like to know.

It also seems like the gearbox seal to the tailshaft is leaking, has anyone changed this before, if so how to do?

Thanks

I have Kelpro and they are fine. If you're replacing the box end one then replace the rear one too as it tends to take more load than the front as it deals with the flexing of the diff.

What happened to the coupling, looks like something got wrapped up on it?

That's probably original, @losh1971 take note of the little arrow on the rubber coupling :)

I thought the arrow was supposed to point to the front of the car? Thats pointing to the rear.

According to the manual the arrows are supposed to point towards the heads of the bolts.

It points towards the flange.
