From some comments I've read Toolpro now comes out of India. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Should be ok? Won't be hanging of it with a 1 metre bar will you?

Definitely not, I've broken much more expensive tools doing that :(

Ohhhh, that's not promising if that's the case.

In toolpro, I have a 199 piece (think) tool kit, a 1/2 drive battery powered rattle gun and a 1600KG low profile trolley jack.....All this stuff is inbetween 12 months and 3 years old...All made in China...

I might have to go and fondle a set at SCA, the feel of a tool will tell me what I need to know.

It's not like I need them regularly.

Was a tight wad when I bought the trolley jack and rattle gun...Trolley jack I needed to replace the old one that broke a bracket that held the ram in place, when I was jacking the car up...

The tool kit was something to chuck in the back of the car for that "just in case" scenario

Haven't busted any of it yet, but haven't tried to either...

They do say lifetime warranty, so if you do break one I guess its just a matter of swapping it. Could even wait for a 20% off sale and get them even cheaper if not in a hurry.

Yep the good stuff was made in Taiwan. The not-so-good was made in China. Just like much of the cheaper Stanley socket sets were made in China and the exxy sets made in Taiwan. Toolpro products are manufactured all over the world, however.

The older hand tools were very good for the most part. Unsure about newer Toolpro manufactured in India - I haven’t seen that printed on anything just yet but I don’t spend time at SCA like I used to. I’ll keep an eye out.

7 years of employment at sca saw me spending plenty of time looking at and buying tools…

If you read the descriptions, the new sets have a "thinner" design which makes me question quality and suggests a change in manufacturer.
