Tow bar . fuel tank

Just wondering if I have to take out the fuel tank to remove the tow bar. Only trying to remove the tow bar cause the bracket (?) In the boot that hold it in place is rusted as f#$k and font want it to spread

No, should not have to remove the fuel tank, but why not just remove the bracket in the boot, wire brush the boot floor, and coat it with some paint to stop it going further.
At the same time find out where the water is getting into the boot.
And at the same time, wire brush or grind the bracket and paint it too, before refitting it.
Use new bolts if necessary.
If you do remove the tow bar altogether, you will need to plug the holes in the boot to stop water getting in.

Weight reduction lol na just seen it was rusty as a few fays ago and just thought it would be easier to just remove it being i don't have no use for it. I think I get water in through the boot trim bit ( I don't know what its really called)
