VE engine noise under accellaration

As a followup ,the recent VE purchased has rather a raspy engine noise under even mild accelleration. Having had an extremely reliable VY for 14 years with less noise,is the raspy sound normal.

R U running the stock air cleaner?

Yes commy so far as I know previous owner left as standard

does it have the stock exhaust? mine has headers and noticed the different sound compared to stock.

Stock exhaust fitted.. My unsubstantiated concern is the different noise to previous VY.The noise shows up even under mild accelleration.

oh its a v6 isn't it, I assumed it was a v8 sorry. I have limited experience with them
