Ah found it:
"Turbo timers are not to be fitted to vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 1972 (ADR 25 Anti-
Theft Locks). ADR 25 requires that the normal function of the engine only occurs when the ignition
lock is in the engine on position."

Therefore remote start is illegal. But I have no fear of being defected for it...I've been through Regency and they couldnt tell so *shrugs*

Personally, i'd never trust a remote start on a holden (Let alone an older one), you would never know if it would launch itself off down the road at full pelt.... what a funny sight that would be.

Remote start on an auto would be ok, but a manual would just be dangerous.

this was exactly what we were discussing sat nite, friend of ours has put remote start on his car & we were saying illegal, but that wouldnt be a hazard like if fitted to manual.
