HIDS to be legal still require washer and leveller, LEDs supposably now only need to comply with the same requirements as filament globes, though some may require canbus modules.

you can take a look at the recommended ones here, or look at all their reviews

Thankyou very much for the links. I'll look more into these! I'll see what is available in Australia first even though they all come from overseas.

HID's are definitely very limited for the VE/VF, but there's a heap going in options wise for the LED's.
Thankyou for people's input.

I use this HID kit on my VF Calais - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162211836442
These are leagues better than the OE halogens and the so called "1000,000 lumen" LEDs.

The uprated halogens (like Osram Nightbreakers) are better than the HID in terms of light colour and throw. But their relatively short lifespan means a replacement once every 1.5-2 years. I don't know about you - but even the thought of replacing lowbeam globes on my VF is scary.

Still looks like the LED's are the way to go.
Is it worth going the LED fog lights aswell or don't waste the money?

Please don't.
LEDs are useless due to limited throw of fog lamps and they gift a significant amount of glare to other road users.

I use the 6000k version - but they perform more like 5000k in real-world use. I have faced no issues in rain either.

I've had Narva Gen2 LED in my VF2 SV6 Ute for about 18 months and work faultlessly on low beam with resistor modules. They provide a much better spread than halogens, brighter light but not much more distance on low beam. High beam is generally much better than halogens but not massively improved distance. They're still not as good in distance as the stock FG Falcon headlights that are pretty good for an OEM headlight.

Here's the LED on low and high beam on an unlit road.

Honestly, I might go the low/high beam set up from Royalty LED Conversion/Superior Vision Australia.

Anyone have any experience with these systems?

Buying the ones from overseas, might be a little tricky if anything goes wrong.
