sorry if this has been asked and answered - couldn't find anything using search - are VF series 2 redlines commanding a price premium at retail, especially the manuals. Quick look at carsales.com.au would appear even cars with high mileage are going for way over original sticker? Do we think this is a blimp / temporary spike or a continuing trend - has the press made any observations on the trend? Cheers

Lots of dreamers out there...

Check redbook for somewhat more accurate sale numbers...

GTK, thanks for the Redbook data point. Is there a Kelly Blue book www.kbb.com equivalent in Australia that tracks ownership, servicing and accidents?

Not really, no. Really the only history you can get for a car is financial (ie. whether someone has a claim on it so you don't pay for something that an undisclosed third-party really owns), I suspect it's considered private information here. Servicing you have to rely on the service book, if it's not filled out it's either not been serviced properly or the owner cares so little that you wouldn't assume it had been serviced properly; but obviously that's not something you can really do remotely.

or a repaired write-off, sellers are supposed to disclose this but may conveniently forget to.
