My dad recently put the ssv foglights in his sv6 vf. He has got the correct headlight switch with the push able button installed and one of the fuses in the main fuse box, but where he has to put the relay for lights in the fuse box, it is blocked off. My question is, will he need to get a new fuse box tray from an ssv or a car that already has the lights installed?

if it's blocked off, he has got no choice really. and you still might run into the issue of no wiring there for it.

other thing to think about, is it might need to go to holden for the foglight functionality to be turned on

basically the headlight switch sends canbus messages so even if you got a new fusebox you would also need someone to program the bcm to accept the canbus message to turn the foglights on so it might not be possible.

Or just connect the driving lights, which is there proper name since fog lights are yellow, directly to the ignition.

If they are on in conditions that do not require them it can attract mr plod with fines for incorrect use.
Also not all fog lights are yellow ;)

Not all fog lights are yellow, indeed ... but the factory things fitted to Commodores are defo 'driving lights'. :)
Don't want those things on in fog, cause you all forms of extra blindness!
