Hi Guys,
After a long absence from the commodore scene I am back and once again in a Vl. This is my 4th Vl Calais but the First V8, all the others were turbo sixes the most notable my last one the old Jet-88c which was a 10 sec streetcar.
I bought this car as is and have just detailed the paint and panel as it was in some need of attention.
Here is a run down of the car.
Body/Exterior
Genuine red on silver calais turbo body with series two cream interior. . Engine bay has been smoothed/painted and all wiring hidden.
Engine/drivetrain
- 4 bolt mains
- Eagle stroker crank, 30thou forged pistons and 6in rods
- Dave Bennett -9 alloy heads, solid roller cam, springs and yella terra roller rockers
- COME twin throttle body manifold, 440cc injectors and aeromotive fuel reg
- Hi Energy sump
- Gilmer drive kit
- pacemaker extractors hpc coated
- twin 2 1/2 exhaust system into single 3 inch with magnaflow muffler
- turbo350 box fully manualised with tranny cooler and b&m shifter
- 10 bolt lsd diff rebuilt by Bosenjack with 3.55:1 gears
- Autronic SM4 ecu
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump
- Tuned by S.A.S
- Polished everything in bay
Brakes and Suspension
- VT brake conversion up front with hpc coated calipers front and rear
- VX master and booster modified to suit
- K-Sport adjustable coilovers all round
- New bushes, sway bars, panhard rod etc throughout
Wheels
Genuine Simmons FR18s in immaculate condition
Car made 323rwhp on SAS' dyno which is generally low reading. Heaps of fun to drive on the street (hates rubber) and sounds awesome.
