Engine sump decided to get in powdered coated, stripped off the paint last night, should have it back end of week $80
Ordered the Crow PR 5825-110 pushrods best i could find was $260

Thinking ahead about pre-priming the engine with making some fitting going into the oil pressure gauge hole on block and using hand/sprayer pump from Bunnings to get some oil around the block, to check for oil leaks and to prime engine to be sure it has some lube without grinding on them bearings
This is where SBC, Ford, BBC and old school come in handy with primer on distributor location

Oil
Has anyone used the penrite run in oil or just straight 10-30 mineral oil to start engine

VEGTS BUILT BLOWN E85
i noticed with mine when u run out u just end up pushing air thru the engine so i had to keep eye on the level, used the oil in tank quickly when i was attached to the main feed line but was much slower when i use the oil sensor hole but still worked just as good to get the oil everywhere

You have roller lifters so the typical FT lifter failure isn't a issue. I pull the plugs and run it over on the starter to build oil pressure. Without plugs there isn't much load on the bearings (I can't remember what assembly lube you used) but I wouldn't expect the lube to push out like that.

Pre-lube is definitely the best option.

What cam do you have?
If it's a roller and you have moly rings don't worry about break in oil.

Yea I always use a pressure bleeder on new engines.
But if you pre lube everything enough that should be fine.

Basically the pressure bleeders are for OEM engines as some come hardly lubed.

Shane, the cam/lifter hydraulic roller, yes nothing flash on the rings standard moly

I was more thinking of bearings,
However can't be a bad idea to get some oil through system, suppose on paper it doesn't costs much as opposed to cranking on the engine.

As immortality said, you can crank it over with the plugs out to build up some pressure.
This is why you use assembly lube.

Where is Smitty

Im sure seen yt clip years ago somewhere where filter adaptor was used with pressurised air to pump oil through 308 engine...worked well.

just had a thought that Im using the System 1 remote filter which put a T-fitting in the dash an10 line for pressure gauge, perhaps could break into that line
