VN SS Atlas Grey / VN V6 Drift Car
Hi everyone I have started a VN drift project it's not to bad I'm not going to ask a million questions about what to do with it I'm just hoping I can help if someone else is trying to achieve a similar thing on a budget.
So I Started out with a bright orange never been skidded or revved past 4000rpm nanna car that was pretty much stuffed it was a parts car as in it donated allot of its parts for other projects, it was however a factory m78 (T5) body with a healthy-ish v6 in it.
It's now running s13 coilovers with vr lower control arms and hubs with 50mm longer rackends and standard vn tie rod ends we are looking at fitting the s13 rear coilovers as well but we need to get some metal for fab work first, currently sitting on 19's but drifts on 17's or pursuit rims depending on tread conditions it's got a race seat and harness to keep you in place and a fire extinguisher mounted in front of my drivers seat and a sports wheel nothing to over the top I'll upload pics as soon as I can cause I can't do it on my phone :(

How does the Buick show up for power when drifting?
Would love to see more of these older Commodores sliding around the tracks.
Also what diff set up do you run ?

The Buick loves limiter, its got pacemakers and a sports exhaust and an Ebay Tune, it has enough power for short track, and initilizing with the hydro handbrake gets it sideways pretty easy on bigger tracks and once its lost traction theirs enough torque to keep it lost.
My next upgrade is to turbo the Buick.
I'm running a locked 3:45 ratio standard commodore diff.
I've installed a remote reservoir powersteering pump off a VT V6 using a Camry resivor mounted to the drivers Strut Tower as the standard powersteering pump was spewing fluid out when going lock to lock under big revs.

i cant find anywhere that people using the S13 coilovers actually finish the build the post's all seem to stop being updated lol i think i figured out why running cause S13 coilovers and vr lower control arms and hubs reduces the caster settings to close to 0 which is tremendously bad for handling and steering response to fix this you can buy Whiteline adjustable caster arms or because race car cut and shut standard ones bracing them of course because because you don't want to snap them at 130kph when you throw it into a corner after a long straight.

the car is due for a new clutch as its still running an extreme clutches organic heavy duty, which is honestly just a step up from a stock clutch, the next clutch will be a button exedy unit which will love the abuse only issue i have is voiding my warranty as its track car i cant do 500km to bed the new clutch in.
Borrow works trade plate haha then take a nice trip down to sunny coast and back and try not to die, don't get me wrong i a straight line the car drives superb but you just gotta remember thet it changes lanes very very quickly with -5 degrees of camber 8 degrees of caster and 4mm of toe out total.

iv also changed the china hydro hand brake that failed after one practice day, im now running a Daihatsu Feroza Booster and master located between the driver and passenger seats whit a adjustable rod to the handle of the hydro, all master lines T into one another and one line feds out to the rear. i was wondering if it was going to work as the booster and master where adequate to stop a whole car and now there feeding 1 line to my rear brake T piece well i can say it instantly locks the rear quiet violently i think over time the hand brake locking so hard will destroy bushes and maybe even bend caliper pins it seriously grabs that hard that quick.

i also found that the VT Powersteering pump pressure switch needs to be changed out with the VN one otherwise the steering stiff, as the vn is high volume and the VT is High Pressure they interchange without modification though

Interesting to read what you say about the VT steering pump. I have just replaced the VN V6 engine I had in my VC with with an L67 from a VT. I used the VT power steering pump and mounted the VT reservoir besides the radiator and the steering is fine, better than it was with the VN pump. The VC has a VL rack fitted. Also my VN reservoir used to leak fluid when running on the track. The car is registered but is only driven on road prior to an event to make sure all is well and to get fuel.

So you're running coilovers on the rear? What did you have to do to get those to fit properly?
