Vr berlialna
can someone help pls,

m vr berlina needs a new motor, buicks are so hard to find atm, so i was thinking of slapping an ecotec into it, but im worried that it won’t drive/sound the same, if i keep the vr throttle body and input manifold, will it drive the same?

i love how snappy the buick engine is and i dont wanna lose that,

is it worth just trying to find a buick engine? or will an ecotec work

You will need a new tune to suit.

I have done the ecotec swap into a VR about 8 years ago. The only problem I still have to fix properly is the exhaust Y-pipe as it sometimes hits body or tranny. Could not use the ecotec Y-pipe so I had to "massage" the buick pipe to fit.

See my old thread here https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/vrii-v6-seized-what-other-v6-will-fit.244750/

Note the cutdown VR intake tube on the ecotec and no MAF required.

No wiring for a MAF on a VR. You would fit a MAP sensor instead.

So, the ecotec engine loom & pcm wasn't used?
Nah, you just use the engine normally and get a tune to suit.
