Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has tried fitting a hard lid on a VR VS Ute from another commodore or even another car in general?

Also does anyone know if the HBD Hard lid is made of a foam material or hard plastic?

Thanks

Only a VG-VS lid will fit a VG-VS ute.

It’s like getting a Toyota Corolla rear quarter to fit the rear quarter of a Commodore sedan.

Ok easy, thanks,
was just wondering even if VU-VZ hard lids would fit, not scared to modify anything either.

Not without butchering it.

A VU-VZ hardlid is wider and shorter than a VS, so you would have to cut the middle a 50mm and extend the Hardlid about 150mm
It could be done but wouldn't be strong or safe. As posted above you can get a tight smooth finished one for about 2K

I get why it seems an option. The design seems the same. Same curves, locks, sides.

It’s just the size/scale that is different.

The VU-VZ is bigger. To make the lids, they have used the same features but made the sizing different.

No matter how you look at it, it’s going to be expensive.
