In Victoria you can have a 304 don't think its different in SA , the first time I went to SA In the early 90's road rules were opposite I tried to run into a few locals before a bloke told me.

Plenty off P platers have been driving 304s for years .
Carsales specs say even VS clubsport( only another 20 KW more ) = yes in NSW .
Some states =no .
If really worried enquire/double check. with NSW rms

Wonder if he/she got caught a few times driving it when he/she shouldn't have and been locked up as a result....Reason behind my comment is, they haven't been since the original post....
