VT engine light

[VT Holden]

Hi I was wondering if I could ask you all a question about my Vt Commodore please. My check engine light was coming on and off for a little while now but had no idea why and the weirdest thing is my best mate fixed my power steering leak last week and since then the engine light hasn’t come on since which is a good thing but my question is does that mean that it was the cause of the engine light coming on and off? Thank you.

you dont mention if standard power steering or "variatronic" steering
either a coincidence or he accidentally repaired your fault
