Vx commodore question

Hey everyone, been awhile just got a couple of questions
Sorry if this takes awhile just want to give as much info as possible

so not long ago bought a 01 vx acclaim wagon cheap, and have a couple of issues so did engine mounts couple of days ago ( trans mount new also)

but have been having issues with the trans staying in 2nd and 3rd gear to long and really rough changes, sometimes when you take off from idle it just doesn't want to move like its in 2nd,

have been thinking maybe shift solenoid but then when this happens in neutral or Park will idle between 1,500 and 2,500 aswell
And also feels like the trans does not really know what gear should be in some of the time like cruising at 100 on cruise control occasionally will drop back to 3rd then go 4th back to 3rd etc and only really does it after driving for a a while once warm

So Kinda lost atm does have check engine light sometimes aswell,

I am getting codes checked just in the meantime see what you guys think

When was the fluid and filter last changes?

What does the current fluid look and smell like?

Forgot to mention box just been serviced and shifts beautifully besides this issue

Was it doing it before the service?

No it wasn't drove it about 1000km after the service but engine mounts started getting worse then car sat for 3 weeks did mounts then drove it for about an hour before started playing up

Although thinking back it did start showing odd symptoms before doing mounts but I just put it down to engine mounts

How does the fluid look and smell, dirty fluid or fluid with a burnt smell are the usual suspects or wear

Fluids perfect only about 2000km old looks and smells fine
