The correct belt is 6PK2815.
They sold you the wrong belt, take it back and exchange it for the correct one.
I recently bought a spare for my missus VY V6 (with a/c) and the belt that was on the car was a 6PK2815. I actually checked it for it's size before I went and bought

I thought I would add my 2 cents worth in this discussion, bearing in mind that I am in New Zealand. According to Repco the 6PK2815 will fit my VY 2004 Berlina and the 6PK2825 will also fit the same vehicle, there is a 10mm difference between the 2 belts, there is also a price jump between the 2 as well 6PK2815 - $198.40 (Suit's A/C) and 6PK2825 - $112.80 (Suit's A/C), 6PK2815 not available or in stock and the 6PK2825 in stock at selected stores. How much of a difference does that 10mm have? who knows but if I am able to purchase both it would make a nice comparison for the next belt change. Supercheap Auto have the 6PK2815 from Dayco which they say fits my vehicle at $76.99, this is what I am running at the moment, but is a special order, and the 6PK2825 does not fit my vehicle. Boils down to what you believe. Just remember 2815mm and 2825mm (10mm difference).

Also depends on pulley sizes.

Here's a link to the Gates catalog. It reference all the parts with measurements. You just have to find them.

Have a look on eBay, Supercheap and Repco, and use all of them all as a comparison to part numbers, and price.

That's not all that useful when some of those sites will tell you differing sizes will fit.

I only mentioned it as a general suggestion,
Sorry if it’s not useful for you.

Sorry if I sounded ungrateful, I didn't meant to be. I'd been on some of those sites already and got conflicting info. I pretty sure a 2003 VY with air com=n uses the 6PK2815 though I see Bosch do a 2810 which is what I currently have after some intensive looking on my current belt. I'm guessing 5mm is neither here nor there.
