I did an oil change on the weekend, using Nulon 20W50.....
Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
I did my best to, they didn't look bad to me. Nothing obvious. I'm thinking if I had a worn out cam that the noise would be consistant though aswell. I could be wrong though? The lifter noise seems to come and go on all of them.I think I read where you have changed lifters (@#42)
Did you inspect cam lobes when you did the lifter change ???
Should be all of the push rods making the mess.A few revs with the rocker cover off and some of the pushrods are squirting oil all over the joint. Makes me pretty hesadent to buy a new pump.
Most used the continuous oil change system. Those old motors were tough as ****.
Good point, perhaps some are weaker then others.. it was a quick observation so im not sure, when they started shooting all over the car I stopped it hahaha.Should be all of the push rods making the mess.

Change the filter, pour oil in the top of engine, watch it come out the exhaust. No crawling underneath to drain oil required.
It does it cold and warm. Comes and goes how bad it gets. Sometimes it's not too bad but never fully goes away like it used to.I don't think it's the pump.
Does it do it when cold or only when up to temp?
