Just curious about cooler thermostats, I’ve heard of people fitting cooler thermostats to there cars is there any actual performance benefit to this? Or on the other hand is it in anyway detrimental? Car is a ve ssv sedan with the basic otr exhaust and tune mods and not a daily driver

So I’m about to do a water pump on my ve ss and I figured it’s a good time to a complete coolant flush out and drain, is there any easy way to drain it out of the engine block?

My ve ss L98 engine is due for a water pump, the bearings are noisy and has a bit of coolant smell which I’d say is coming from the weep hole, what’s a good brand of water pump these days?
