Bringing this thread back to life in 2023. Sounds like the Varta E44 is the goer for replacement. The people that used these, what has your experience with them been like? Mine is just the standard VE SIDI SV6, nothing aftermarket in sound systems etc other than an in car air purification...

I have heard about using diesel fuel (1 litre) mixed in engine oil to help with flushing, but I have never done, nor seen in person the results. How long do you reckon is a good idle time before dropping the oil?

Done! I used the Liqui Moly intake cleaner solely because of it's 3 point spray pattern getting everywhere rather than shooting straight. I only done half the job though. I sprayed in & let soak for 5 minutes then started & drove it. The directions are as spray in, let soak for 5 minutes...

Yes & this is an issue with all using oiled performance filters, the suction rips off small amounts of oil & coats the maf. I'll inspect it & see if there is any film on it & clean regardless.

I have read elsewhere I can do that but after disconnecting the electrical & then gently openjng. Just wanting to find the correct way to do it.

Honestly, I might go the low/high beam set up from Royalty LED Conversion/Superior Vision Australia. Anyone have any experience with these systems? Buying the ones from overseas, might be a little tricky if anything goes wrong.

Still looks like the LED's are the way to go. Is it worth going the LED fog lights aswell or don't waste the money?

HID's are definitely very limited for the VE/VF, but there's a heap going in options wise for the LED's. Thankyou for people's input.

Yep, when I was gently lifting the cover up to get the scrivets out, bang, one went flying & is in the engine bay somewhere!

Just ripped out the old cabin air filter with mesh & eff me, it was bad. Hit it with the vacuum first, then over with the cleaning wipes out followed by spraying glen20 in there. I wish getting the filter in was just that little bit easier. I'll put it at 90% successful on my first try as one...

I haven't used any liqui moly, nulon etc flushes from auto stores for over 6 years. Use what you want & like. I'm not interested in them.

Maybe you should read what product I actually use & then you'll see the directions on usage.

What is your question referring too? 2.5mls routine flush of 30-40mins high rev idle flush? 12.5mls dirty flush of 30-60mins high rev idle flush? I've been using the product for over 6 years. I ask alot of questions about what can be done with it & what cannot be done.

Nothing, just wasting the product. Routine maintenance is only 2.5mls a litre.

The flush I use, the max amount I put in is 83/84mls, so it's not going to have any big dramatic affect on the viscosity on the 5W30 6.7 litres of oil. Flush works it's best magic under high heat operation & remember, if you drive at 100/110kms, the force that the oil pump will be moving the oil...
