    Advice on similar issue

So to get back to this tranny issue for whoever is interested. It turns out that the tranny is not the issue here. Its the kickdown. Its kicking down at 30-40 kms when it should be higher at approx 70kms. Its the settings in the ECU that are out, and are supposedly adjustable. It just came to...

    Anyone Used These before?

It sounds like 3 and 4 clutches are worn. Ive watched these videos a few times right through and others. https://www.youtube.com/@transmissionbench7842/videos Id be quite confident doing a full rebuild now, after watching the above over the last 6 months just for knowledge, just in case it...

    Anyone Used These before?

I may be getting close to the tranny issue ive been on about in previous posts without resolution either here or the G8 forums in the US. So there's a check ball separator plate repair kit that sorts out the #2 check ball seat, that wears through the separator plate, and causes problems with the...

    Cordless Impact Wrench

Thats a Thats a MONSTER. If its capable of that sort of torque, it must be decent quality.

    Cordless Impact Wrench

Whats this skin business? No battery included it says. Mixed reviews. Some reckon its good enough and others dont. Will take your word for it.

    Cordless Impact Wrench

This is the reason for puttin it out there. To get something that will last. Maybe Holden should take heed and do the same with their parts lol.

    Cordless Impact Wrench

So probably the Ryobi is as good as the Makita hopefully. Have to check out the warranties for both.
  12. S

    Cordless Impact Wrench

Yeah, im already leaning towards it. I used a Ryobi electric wipper snipper recently, and it started smoking. And stopped working. So im a bit suss as well. I like the Makita ones.

    Cordless Impact Wrench

    Cordless Impact Wrench

Would it be this one? Cause the reviews on Supercheap on it are a bit suss man. Or is it another. https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-impact-wrench-kit-20v/573296.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwJzyi7uagAMVEtEWBR3X_AiEEAQYASABEgKIHfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    Cordless Impact Wrench

Any quality impact wrenches for under 300 bucks that will do the job on the VE Commo, or any other models out there? After using the spring compressors on the struts, im not doing anything by hand anymore except the small stuff. What a ball breaker that was. And anyone know what the highest...

    Here it goes again

Yeah, ill be stretchin their anuses real wide if i ever step foot into any Holden dealer in the future. I had a BRAND NEW 2005 VZ SSZ ute, and it stil had issues with heat comin into the drivers side cabin, and they look at me like if got a cock growin out of my forehead. And if i get aggressive...

    Here it goes again

Its not that hard to make QUALITY parts. But they have to compete with other cheaper labour manufacturers overseas. The longer it goes on, the more issues theres gonna be. The go is to fuk them off every 5 years. Or keep buying MORE NEW PARTS. If it wasnt for parts, they would all go broke...

    Here it goes again

Bought it with this issue, like the rest of them. Never have i had to make so many repairs on any car in 40 years of owning cars. Bought it with 185 thousand kms, so i cant really bitch i suppose. Just done the shocks and strut mounts all around as well to pass rego. I knew this had to be sorted...

    VE VSS gear changing issues

Replaced the VSS, code cleared and hasnt made a difference to anything, either before or after replacing it. Only difference is its not flashing on the dash. If HQs werent that fricken expensive these days, id own one of them any day of the week instead of thisw piece of junk. Even my old HT...

    VE VSS gear changing issues

Thanks for that info. I dont trust any mechanic. The wheel sensors cost bugger all and can be replaced blinfolded, but they make out like its a costly job like everything they do. I went to a mechanic after decades and the same crap. Trying to bullshit as usual. Ill replace the VSS shortly and...

    VE VSS gear changing issues

So ive just had a P0500 come up as the VSS circuit. Now this is interesting as ive been trying to find out what the tranny issue has been for 2 years since ive owned it. I saved something about the VSS causing shifting problems if faulty a while ago. I hadnt got around to checking it out. Pedal...

    4l60e return line

Yeah ive done the PCV mod as there was oil in the air filter in front of the throttle body. Its good now after that mod. I think ive narrowed it down to timing cover gasket on the drivers side as it sounds very common. Might just need the bolts to be nipped up to stop the leak...

    4l60e return line

    4l60e return line

Pumped out five and a half litres from the rubber cooler pipe in engine bay. Its the one on the right when standing in front of the car. Took the circlip off and disconnected it, and it came out from the radiator towards tranny, and had an oil tray underneath while directing the rubber hose pipe...

    4l60e return line

So if i want the fluid in the cooler in the bottom of the radiator to be flushed out as well, the return line from the tranny would need to remain connected to the radiator from the tranny, and the other line would need to be disconnected. So the fluid would actually be flowing out of the...

    4l60e return line

Ive had 12 litres of AC Delco Dex3 sitting in the boot waiting to be done for 6 months. The weathers gonna turn cold after Friday in Sydney so if i dont do it Thursday or Friday it wont get done till it warms up again. Im gettin lazier by the second.

    4l60e return line

Im doing it this way. https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/transmission-fluid-change.32283/ I left the engine running for about 15sec max. I did it in 5sec increments. So start: 5sec: then stop x3. You do not need much more than that. IF you are worried about not leaving the...

    4l60e return line

I have these about pumping the fluid out. https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/ve-trasnmission-oil-return-line.248039/ The return line is the one closest to the centre of the engine. Looking from your perspective from the front of the engine it is on the right hand side. Did you top up...

    4l60e return line

I drained out about 6 litres last June when i gave it a service after buying it a year before. Supposedly theres 7.9 litres in it, so the rest being about 1.9 litres was still in the torque converter, the two lines to the radiator and the radiator cooler. Ill be changing the 1-2 accumulator...

    Advice on similar issue

Today i removed the 2-4 servo and replaced the seals. Two on the second piston, one on the fourth piston and the inner and outer caps o-rings. Five in total. The fourth piston seal was damaged with one section hard, mis-shapen and out of the groove it should be sitting in. They were the original...

    Advice on similar issue

I was gonna do the valve body with the Transgo kit, but will do these 2 steps first below. The oil will make no difference as these issues are very common to the 4l60E in the U.S. I think its past any oil level or oil type issues. I reckon im the first to even look at this tranny since new...
