308 vacuum advance source port auto vrs manual transmission

Can someone confirm or deny if there is a difference with the distributor vacuum advance supply port for manual and auto's, I read somewhere that the auto's got a ported (reduced) signal from the carb (port 34) & the manuals got full vacuum via (port 4)????
