Try supercheap supposedly meant to scan cars for free...never tried them but cant hurt if true.

Cheap shitty scan tools won’t find the code on a box of cornflakes, let alone a Commodore.

A better scan tool will be needed. The car won’t go into limp mode for no reason. There will be codes.

Tech2 knock off or a Vident i400au with Holden software is the go. ($500-ish, give or take a bit)

Update:
I purchase a kingkrome scan tool from supercheap and changed the air intake sensor connected to the air filter box. Still going into saftey mode and has no codes.

Put the old MAF sensor back in.
Clear codes
Make sure the battery is fully charged and has good battery health.

You need a scan tool that does much more than the Kinchrome one.

You’ll need a tool that pokes around in the modules.
