Imm: Maybe time to get a little more serious, warnings to behave are being ignored.

Everyone: If the argumentative behaviour continues we will close the thread.
There's nothing wrong with technical debate, in fact it's healthy discussion and beneficial to all to collectively nut out a technical issue. Technical debate can be easily conducted without disrespectful behavior towards other members contributing with different opinions.

It's quite clear to me where disrespect and antagonistic comments know as trolling began in relation to this thread and may I suggest in a moderation perspective to prevent thread derailment, that trolling behaviour is addressed first and foremost.

That troll needs to be permanently removed,
as its not the first time that member abuse has happened,
the said person even said in his own words

"No not being childish although as I get closer to 70 a love being told to grow up as it means I am getting under peoples skin"

What does that tell you !
Time to tell him he is the weakest link !

There is no place for this sort of antagonization to ANY members in this forum,
"wanting proof for a statement"

I personnel wouldn't/dont waste my time and effort for a person like that,
Being he said I know nothing, he has no idea of my experience/knowledge and he wants myself and other members to prove them selves "not happening"

And sure as hell didn't help the OP, which I felt sorry for,
As he should apologize for spinning unnecessary BS that
that highjacked the thread, sure as hell which didn't help the
OP.
Yes, antagonizes/tolls should be booted.

The matter was dealt with and that is where it should be left.

After a couple of failed attempts by the local ex Holden Dealer, l was able to get it looked at by an ex dealer in another city.
They found that it was a blown F16
BCM 15 amp fuse (located in the cabin fuse panel, right hand end of dash.)
I got the call to come and pick the car up.
All fixed said the Service Manager,
that will be $300. I put the left hand indicator on as l left the dealership and it blew the fuse again. All of the lights on the front left and rear right lost power again.
They think that it could be a wire or earth behind the
bumper causing the fuse to
blow.
The panel beater had the bumper off to give me a quote to replace the DRL, bezel and DRL mounting bracket and could have dislodged
wires when reinstating.
I had the problems with the lights shortly afterwards.
I will order the parts needed next week and I will know more after the new DRL has been installed.
Again a big thanks to everyone who replied and l will post again if
they find that anything else has caused the problem.
Cheers.

Did I understand it correctly?

The dealer found F16 was blown so they replaced the fuse and for the $300 didn’t investigate it any further  not even use the indicators as a very basic test of the circuit operation, let alone visually inspect the easily accessible parts of wiring

Sounds like dealer‘s favourite song lyrics should be “That ain't workin', that's the way you do it. Money for nothin' and your chicks for free“

I reckon you have read it right. It is pretty disappointing really - $300 to change to diagnose and change a fuse. I’d hope that the $300 also included a warranty so the further work (the short in the indicator wiring) should be under warranty. After all, they have changed a premium price to ‘fix it’ so they should cover it until it is fixed. Or, just charge $75 to diagnose and change the fuse.
