Maybe a more basic CNC spindle, such as a DC one? You probably won’t need a lot of power for a grinder?

Thanks for the link! Probably don't need a lot of power but does require a decent amount of torque to stop the grinder stalling during use.

Yeah some tolerances can be interesting.
Here I was spewing I was out by a thou first time using a lathe (under instruction) after watching the mate be perfect everytime.
Thats when he was saying about 1thou out with temp corrections where he did his time would be a throw away item. (or similar, i might have to ask again for clarification).

If you're not using coolant on the lathe, always wait for the part to cool down before measuring.
The die grinder in your first link is interesting, having a Jacobs chuck... I wouldn't trust it at 26,00RPM, and its concentricity would be suss as well.

The Makita in the second link looks perfect! I was at Total Tools the other day, but they didn't have one on display.
Might go back and order one!

That Makita one looks like a newer one of mine ( had it for for some years now ) .
Works a treat = lots of torque !
Not a little unit though!!!

Do love the versatility of the little 6" straight and 90 air die grinders !!
I remember borrowing one of those long shank air die grinders from work to use at home = a long time ago=fxxk that thing sucked some air !!!!

Your Makita is still a current model and more expensive than the model @Drawnnite linked, which I will go and check out tomorrow.
I reckon it should do the job, as it doesn't have a rubberized grip which will make it easier to adapt to a tool post. Plus it has a simple toggle switch to turn in on and off.
I've got some 30mm alloy plate offcuts to fabricate a dovetailed clamping style holder around the alloy snout.

Went to Total Tools today to check out the die grinder that @Drawnnite linked earlier.
Seemed perfect for what I needed, so it followed me home.

Gave it a workout today on some scrap steel I use for TIG practice.
Really pleased with it, should be perfect as a tool post grinder.
It has plenty of torque! Tried to stall it, but it disintegrated the abrasives without it stalling.
Need to be wary of what mounted points you use, as some in my collection aren't rated for 33,000RPM.

We had ,what you call 1/4: 28 ,drill bit cases made up, for ( not just aviation but Military aviation ).
So lots of $ spent!!! = because aviation =$!!!
A few boxes with lots of sizes of , and 3 different lengths in each .

=== screw in fitting into a 90 degree pneumatic drill ,that had brazed in sizes of hardened drill bits.
The biggest dud.
Drill bits griped and Fxxked tips or Fxxked braze and = free spinning.
Being on the floor= ( at the coal face so to speak) =WTF!!!!!

I know the drill bits you're discussing, I've used them in a Desoutter right angle pneumatic drill. Pain in the butt.
Also used a really weird little tool that that looked sort of like a box ratchet, with a 1/4" shank at one end (attached to an air drill) and the other end had a threaded recess for screwing in a special L/H 1/4" drill bit about 20mm long. The drill bit pointed back towards the user.
The 'box ratchet' was about 100mm long and had a gear train inside, why it required a L/H drill.
It was used to remove the remnants of a broken spigot of a Delrin bumper pad on the backside of a B737 cargo door handle.
