So tonight is the first part of a 3 part special marking the end of Police Ten 7.

The show is ending because it was deemed racist with a big kerfuffle about it last year.

7.30pm TVNZ 2 (NZ time obviously)

Some take it that way.

I watch it occasionally when they have episodes in the South Island, some of our best driving road/scenery in the country and my spiritual home.

These final 3 parts are much about nostalgia of the entire run of the show.

Never fails...They have a good show on telly, then find some reason to axe it....

Unfortunately I don't have any eloborate set ups to watch it, otherwise I'd have a looksey at the show....Sounds like it might be a good show to watch

I've seen it a few times but I can't stand the really thick (or thuck as they say) and forced accents from the voiceovers to make them seem super stereotypical kiwi.

To an Australian it's "Police tin sivun" I end up just laughing the whole way through it :p

Highway Patrol AU is a really good show.

Below is a few episodes of season 1 & 2 of Police Ten 7 and should give one an idea of the show.

How many seasons did it run for?

20 years or so I think.

Nope, that is how they sound.

A lot of the **** you see is funny though, criminals do some really dumb ****, it would be a comedy show if it wasn't for the victims.

Sometimes you see cops do things that are stupid too and certainly not as the law prescribes.

IIRC back in the early days a pommy cop did the voice overs and in the later seasons it's a guy of Maori decent that speaks proper English which I guess does sound kind of funny?

The original presenter was detective inspector Graham Bell (I thought he was a pom but I could be wrong). He had a brilliant way with words. Some real classic one liners. A radio station recently did a mashup off all the one liners and it went on and on and on. Was bloody brilliant.
