Hope I've posted this in the right location. I'm having a issue with installing a Gilmer Kit into a Vk 308 with power steering.

Firstly the P/S pulley attached to the crank pulley did not line up with P/S Pump Pulley so I made some spacers to line it up which sorted that but now the P/S belt is going to rub against the Gilmer belt, not ideal.

So a little lost as to how about going to fix the situation? Can I purchase a smaller Pump pulley, also I had heard maybe a 304 or HQ P/S bracket can be used to drop the P/S Pump unit lower.

Has anyone had a similar issue with a easy solution? Pics below

Cheers

How does it look when the belt is tensioned up?

Another member(smitty) had a similar situation, he machined down the front of his WP pulley to get clearance.

that I did...

still, the ps belt still rubs and now and then wants to go walk about...

which is what happens when you rev it to 6800-7000 and then back off

the idler I installed does the job of keeping the belt on (and off the pump gilmer cog)

... hth

It's pretty tight against the wp pulley when tensioned, but your idea could work a treat, I'll look further into it and I'll let you know what the outcome is. Cheers
