yeah.. if u want it shiny a clear coat would be good.. i was going with a more matt style so i didnt want a clear coat.. i just re painted mine too hehe,

Only tip Ive got is to be careful removing the badge, pushing out the clips....I ended up weakening/half snapping two of them tryin to get the bitch off.
Softly gently really isnt in my dictionary when it need to be sometimes.

I went flat black too...thought it'd match better with the rest of the grill.

I showed a mate this thread and he is going to do his VE grill badge in gloss black (has a black car)

Im with spokkeh on this one, Chrome looks spot on IMO.

Have u every realized that badges on the boot lid are glued on & not clipped on like the grill!!!!

Go to Holden and buy a new badge (as it has the double sided tape on it) and paint that one. Remove the old badge and apply the new one

Use the old badge to put on your esky, fridge or tool box
