These are going to be more essential in years to come for keeping our Commodores and Holdens on the road.

Post your lathe related content here.

A year or so ago I noticed the old guy next door had a lathe. So I hit him up to spin down a few bolts for me (the bolt shoulder that locates the seat belt shoulder point).
Got it sorted and as payment, I had to put his rubbish bin out on Tuesday the next week as he was going to be away.
Good Fella!!

Also used the lathe at work a few times to sort 'un-obtainiam' series 1 Landrover problems.

Better include milling machines as well, they have a 'synergistic' relationship.

I have, work has ..a fully equipped toolroom

Lathes, mills, CNC vertical stuff and anything to do with metal working (spectrometers, nitriding and heat treatment gear)
and
the guys there who are happy to weld aluminium and various grades of stainless or do hard facing, grinding, gear cutting, turn down anything , make HT bolts (Grade 8 or 10) from the cutoff s of the tool steel they normally work with

This is part of why I started the thread. The whole reason we have a garage section on the forum is so we can teach each other new skills and share tool ideas. Or help someone new to cars learn what to start buying to keep their ride going, or better still, renovated.

This is what will keep our cars going into the future.
Another 30 or 50 years. Maybe 69 years. Even better.
