What does it show up as?

My scan tool has nothing IRT oil pressure

I was of the impression they only have idiot lights and you need a dedicated oil pressure gauge

To the OP, what oil pump you running?
yes LS1 only has oil pressure sensor showing pressure on the data and the low light is switched on by a pressure range it gets down to, should be on the data not sure what its called i may have one log of one somewhere if i can find it ill see if it has a pid number

did you plastigage the clearance on the bearings
Yeah was within reason. I can't remember the clearance off hand. I was told by an older mechanic it was on the high end of acceptable. Why could that cause a problem. Would I be able to rectify that

too much clearance equals low oil pressure

Can I user a higher viscosity oil. Or run a bigger oil pump. Or is it just done now and need to be pulled apart again. Is it safe to drive.

pumps usually flow way more then needed and alot is bypassed, i think stock pressure should be in the 180kpa range hot idle, up to about 460kpa by redline
