When I bought my first holden (HG ute) in 1989 it came with a column shift that had been shifted to the floor. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called. When I put the 308 in it I changed to a 4 speed floor. Now I reminisce, wish I still had it.

Would that shifter be a Hurst....

No it wasn't. The shiifter attached to the side of the gearbox rather than on top.

Went for my annual visit to my cardiologist today. He was pretty happy, I lost 4 kgs and finally got my cholesterol down to where it should be which was the main cause of my heart attack 9 years ago. So got a clean bill of health and don't have to see him for another 12 months.
