A fun night at the drags tonight and a new PB. No 10's yet but getting closer.

4 runs

Run 1 - 11.274 secs at 129.52 mph. 60 foot 1.68 secs. RT 0.067
Run 2 - 11.347 secs at 129.50 mph. 60 foot 1.741 secs. RT 0.097
Run 3 - 12.608 secs at 121.29 mph. 60 foot 1.764 secs. RT 0.089 (Left it second gear after burnout and hit the limiter. My screw up.)
Run 4 - 11.344 secs at 129.35 mph. 60 foot 1.690 secs. RT 0.003

A 0.521 second improvement since last time. The key change being the trans tune reflashed last week. It shifts faster and harder but could a bit sharper I reckon.

The 129 mph is also a good improvement and very consistent. The mph is healthy. The 60 footers were ok but could be better.

I'm happy with the reaction times too. Not bad for an old bloke.

Tyre pressure were run at 15 psi then dropped to 14 psi for final run. I'm a bit confused with these Raiden Drag Hero tyres I'm using. They don't smoke up very much in the burnout. Weird. Not too much molten rubber either.

So I'm not sure what the next step is to shave the next 0.3 seconds off.

I love a night at the drags!! Good fun. Good people. Cool cars. Smoke and noise.

That would have been heaps of fun.
That reaction time is waay better than mine would have been.

And the video. Need a bigger burnout.

And a rear view against the Charger that got a PB last night of 10.25 secs. He was stoked. That thing lifted the front wheels. He lifted his foot at half track on that run. He also had a reaction time of a lump of wood at 0.914 secs. "I'm not here for RT's mate, it's not bracket racing"

I'm keen to hear people's advice how to shave the last 0.3 seconds off.
  • It's all in the 60 foot
  • I've tried stalling up at the tree to 2000rpm - didn't help
  • Tyre pressures at 15 and then 14 - no help
  • Remove 25kg with the tow bar - planned
  • Remove 10 kg from driver - no comment
  • Tyres?
  • Remove seats
  • More horsepower is not the answer
My mph should give a 10. What else? I'm at a loss.

should take a little time off the shifts for the higher torque/rpm areas, im not sure where its set but that little dip as it changes should be almost non existent, pressure wont make a fast shift that only allows the shift to be done within the time requested, should be able to do 0.2 sec shifts up top and less torque removal if that is also the cause, to make the shift super quick but also seamless so if u can remove that little dip for each change u should gain a little at the end

Next time you run don't put it in sport mode

My old bus gives a better 60' not using the sport mode

I think it is because the blower gives so much more torque down low it doesn't need to rev, a lower shift point keeps it in the meat of the torque

It isn't like a NA or turbo car, which needs revs

I believe the PB looses efficiency the higher it revs, my torque curve is massive from idle till about 5k rpm, from there it drops off, my boost also drops off a bit at high rpm

Next time out try "normal" mode, and try baking those tyres more with higher rpm burnout, foot and brake that puppy for 5 seconds or so, they may just need more heat

Edit: my old built 4l60e shifts hard and near on instantly, Craig's Automatics built and tuned it

Your shifts sound almost like a manual
