It's a shame none of the pictures show up, and I at least, don't even get the links as described by kopper69.
However, I have found a way to retrieve the original images via the Internet Archive. See here ...
It was time to replace the collapsed engine mounts on my VX. I read a few How-To's for guidance, with this one being the most help :
https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/changing-engine-mounts-ecotec-v6-the-easy-way.187855/
I initially tried the "stubby ring spanner" approach from...
Firstly, where the OP states "I could see I had a small leak near cylidner [cylinder] 1 - 3", I suppose that this leakage was happening underneath the gasket, right? (Because otherwise it's too subtle for me to tell from the pictures, if there is visible sign of leakage on the upper face of the...
Not true. When the key is inserted in the lock/reader, it is then powered by the lock/reader via the ring/stud contact (data+power) and the key blade (ground). The battery is only ever used when you are actually pressing one of the keys.
Joe.
Thanks, TazzI.
Yeah, it's odd that this supposed problem isn't mentioned anywhere else that I can find.
The circuit mention is the "Techedge" circuit, and this guy used to make a USB adaptation of their circuit. However, something holding down the bus doesn't explain this either, since the...
Hi TazzI,
Here's something weird I came across in an old thread : https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/diy-ecu-scantools-data-cables.19665
Have you heard of such a thing before? I can't find any other source for this information (misinformation?) and haven't had any such issues from...
Ummm ... I've seen them present the car twice (second time was an updated version or whatever). They DID make a big thing about its Australian roots!
Joe.
Well, I'll just quote my Gregory's for VS :
Flywheel/driveplate bolts:
First stage ... 18-22 Nm
Second stage - except Series 2 manual ... plus 47-53 degrees
Second stage - Series 2 manual trans. ... plus 80-90 degrees
HTH some.
Joe.
You could be right. When I had under-voltage (due to a faulty alternator regulator), my airbag light would sometimes come on. At first I thought I had a clock spring problem (it seemed to respond to steering input), but once I discovered and fixed the under-voltage problem, the airbag indicator...
Good to hear you've got this one on the ropes!
I guess the mechanic just checked the voltage on OBD pin 16, the check of pin 9 voltage may have revealed/suggested the ECU/PCM was unpowered (although I wonder if the BCM would have supplied voltage on that pin anyway).
Joe.
I believe a VX V6 has ALDL only, no CAN.
On the one hand, his mechanic says the OBD voltages are correct (which would mean no short circuit), on the other hand, neither ALDL comm's nor the "paperclip" work. Kinda contradictory, so I wonder if the mechanic really knows his way around an OBD1...
