Yeah, I was talking 2200rpm in 5th with a T5. M20 would be similar to the Trimatic.

Ahk, I guessed at the 2200. (well hazy memory/guess)
That makes sense with the Trimatic and 4spd. The better ratio's in the 5spd will be a god send for the economy either way.

yeah i spoke to the mechanic today who fixed my power steering lines as hes a power steering and transmission specialist. he said doing a t5 conversion would be expensive (around $2k+) and recommended going with a supra 5 speed swap if i can my hands on one

W57 used to be a common conversion. Great gearbox's but ALOT more expensive then a falcon t5.
The whole t5 conversion will cost about $2k with a new clutch and CRS kit. You'll probably pay $1000 for a W57.

If money wasn't a factor I'd say go the VN engine and gearbox (you said 2k yeah?) and bolt it all in, that plus another grand for a carby manifold to suit the VN motor. epic win.

theres no easy way of finding out what cam you have most are not normally marked as to give you a clear indication of the specs. You might get lucky and find its stamped with a part no.
