Trying to figure out if its worth me considering buying it if he still has it in the new year. If its 56 then no prize, if its 6060 then the price might make it worthwhile. I was hoping it was a CR box as that would be even better than the WR one I have.

The part number doesn't come up online.

I read on a website that the box can only be properly identified from the metal identification tag. Apparently the labels/stickers don’t have the full identification information.

So, maybe ask the seller for a picture of the metal tag (if it’s still on the box)?

Why do you want a spare?

For several years I belted the bejesus out of 2 t56 daily driven cars...one low mileage & other was high mileage.

If they'd had little or no oil left in them maybe them could have broken one lol
Never have too many spares. I heard someone say they bought a new box as the old one wore out. Mine is a bit notchy at times but not all the time. Thought if I had a spare box rebuilt I could eliminate that notchiness? Or is it just a characteristic of a 6060 that you just have to put up with. I was also hoping I could score a close ratio box, rather than the WR one I have.

I just googled it butt didn’t get image results as expected. All I got were @VS 5.0’s gifs.
I may have made a typo due to the upside down letters.

Yeah I tried too and no hits. I've messaged the seller for more info.

A close ratio box will probably have a shorter first gear ratio which might make your bucking problem worse.

There is a bit of information on the pros and cons of the T56 and the TR6060 on this website… https://rxmechanic.com/t56-vs-tr6060/

It mentions the TR6060 being notchy in first and second when cold (see the ’cons’), so your box maybe perfectly normal.

How long since you changed the fluid?

Both boxes are notchy in the low gears although that's a bit subjective. They are industrial and can cop a pounding

Less than 20k. Filled with Penrite GL4.

Other option is the shifter. I was pretty surprised how stuffed mine was when I put the sequential on, which required careful alignment and is very precise how it moves the rod but its smooth as silk. The factory shifter is pretty pov in my opinion
