That's fairly typical of all factory shifters. on my old T5 I used to miss the odd 2-3 shift because of the sloppy shifter, fitted a Billet alloy short shifter and you'd get the right gear every time.

I'll look into the shifter at some point. I do find if you get the shifter on the perfect position it slips into any gear without one bit of notchiness.

Wasn't the 6060 the stronger box out of the 2 but lacked strength in 5th and sixth

The 6060 is stronger than a standard T56. But I think the T56 Magnum is stronger still.

Just read up on them they are pretty much a beefed up 6060 and no t56 internals where they released in Australia in anything ?

Besides the TUIT number is there any way of identifying a manual trans in a VE SS? Mal Wood said there are 14 different 6060s. I was told by the mech who has rebuilt a few of these I have a 6060 but the plate under the bonnet says otherwise. I can't find the TUIT number on mine to send to Mal to figure out what I have. I ask because the trans has been out before and may have well been swapped. I suspect its a late T56 but the case looks nothing like a T56 and looks the same as a 6060, which could be why the mech is incorrect.
