Hi all, trying to refresh my memory on doing the VR manual ECU conversion into my VN V8 conversion.
Was the VR memcal a 512k or 256k eeprom and what chip was used (greenfoam):)
I'm using the AT29c256 at the moment.
Did the 10k resistor need to be removed on the diag/cable or use as per normal?
Do u still use Tunerpro or T/pro RT to read in real time?
Do any other mods need to be done (greenfoam):) or is that it?

Thanx for any help and merry xmas to all...mario

I'm not sure what the go was with the cable but Micheal used to make them does still? I dunno. As for the VR manual tune run in a VN you need to change the speed pulses per kilometer PPK disable the anti theft bit and possibly change the temp that the TCC starts to work (it may be set to 150)

Hakhawk uses EFI Live with tuner pro to do real time I think so talk to him about that :)

Thanx greenfoam i emailed michael on the 27th but not expecting a reply cause of xmas break etc....
On another note i've put in the VR man ecu and tried your old VN_VP_V8_256bin and the car runs (very rough @idle on my custom EFI setup)I copied the BLCF5084 and BJKS8010 bins....and both dont start which are obviously VAT related.
I'm using the $12xdf but bugger if i can find how to disable it in tunerpro....done item find and no items found????
I want to use a standard VR V8 bin as a starting point because of my set up.

Cheers and thanx....mario

I work at an electronics assembly factory, I might be able to get a bulk thing happening if anybody is interested in some 29c.

Those are the right ones (the picture is wrong but the listing is right). They don't make them anymore but since it's a IC that millions? were made, there will be old stock poping up from time to time, you should get them when you see them tho. They are still finding old stock of the famous and somewhat valuable SID chip from the Commodore 64 once in a while :)
