[LS1] vt ss ls1 issue (noob alert)

hey all bought a vt ss a few weeks ago to wreck and put the ls1 in my vx, first of all it has a built trans maybe small stally not sure yet otr mafless tune just the basic things. it sounds stupid but i tried to be all smart and cool and do a burnout but the barstard only spun the wheels every so slowly and then died out. i know it does skid because i took it around the block and it did nothing but spinning. would a stally cause it to do this or would it be something else off the side. also as the title says im new to ls1's

just go in and grab one, there an off the shelf item.
