It didn't sell enough with the v6 variant as the flagship, why I believe the money coulda gone into a more lively 4 bang AWD sport edition, I get the ol' V8 was a Love to let go, it is well built and has all the wow factor you need mostly on how it empties your wallet ahahaha maybe zb coulda been a "Signature" hehehe bit ironic commis started and ended with opel.
All Commodores went through lots of development to turn a FWD car into a RWD car, in fact the VE/VF was entirely Australian... The ZB on the other hand should not have been called a Commodore, despite it being a great car...

Children, children, settle down

The ZB has no where near as much Aussie input as the VF but if you read all the info published when it was released there was a fair bit of Aussie input into the ZB not the least being the suspension set up. The V6 option was done at Holdens insistence.

There's other small unique Holden changes, like for instance the indicator stalk being on the right which isn't the case for the RHD Vauxhalls, which are really a true rebadging exercise.

True, it's not Aussie like the the VE/VF but on the other hand it's not just a rebadged Opel. It's somewhere in the middle and other than the original possibility of being assembled in Australia was always going to be Opel based right from 2012.
Well you could say that it's an Opel kind of adapted to the Aussie market, but let's be honest that things like indicator stalks aren't that much of a change

In one of Tezza's many threads we discovered that an Insignia/ZB is closer to the wheelbase of a Cruze than VF Commodore....

SS Commodore - Ford Territory ... both camps

That's a bit embarrassing.

Holden's greatest achievement was VE-VF's Zeta platform; a near 50-50 balanced rear-drive set-up with huge wheelbase and low overhangs capable of great handling and power-down capability. Front-drive platforms like ZB etc simply aren't in the same league, including front-biased AWD systems with much of the engine/trans over or in front of the front axel.

That's why it isn't a Commodore and should never been called as such... not to mention the lack of manuals/V8s/halo variants/HSV options...

Thread got hijacked bad. Ah well I will continue my thoughts.

Good stuff:
-Best feature of the car so far has been the speed limiter, I use it all the time, so good at keeping under the speed limit, yet still allows to have fun accelerating up to that limit.
-Went for a hike out in the bush and went down some pretty dodgy dirt tracks, handled perfectly and the 17in rims meant it really soaked up any bumps/pot holes.

Bad stuff:
-Cup holders, having only 1 cup holder in front of the centre console??? really annoying when 2x ppl up front as the two cup holders just behind the gear selector are hopeless, too tucked away to be used as cup holders

yeah and if you use smaller cups like regular size coffee cups it is hard to get them out without popping the lid off, pretty stupid design imo.

Anyone who uses a cup holder as a cup holder is asking for a liquid mess to be made inside their car.
Lol cup holders are fine as long as the cup is snug, and not too full. Lucky the liquid mess is contained inside the cup holder if/when it spills

These fold-out cup holders from Monaros and SSs were designed by either a person with a warped sense of humour, or an evil genius.
An engineering masterpiece of uselessness.
